48-hour destination guide
48 Hours in Copenhagen: A Neighborhood Itinerary
Pick your Copenhagen — Nyhavn’s canal, Tivoli, Vesterbro, Christianshavn or Nørrebro — and settle in.

Copenhagen is a flat, bike-first harbor city. Indre By, the old center, runs from City Hall and Tivoli to Nyhavn, with the royal quarter of Frederiksstaden and Kastellet to the north. Christianshavn and Christiania sit across the harbor, Vesterbro and Carlsberg spread west of the main station, and Nørrebro and Østerbro lie beyond the Lakes. Helsingør, Louisiana and Malmö are each under an hour by train. The metro runs 24 hours. Confirm hours before you go; we do not invent them here.
