Downtown is where Las Vegas started. The Fremont Street Experience puts a block-long LED canopy over the old casinos (Golden Gate, Binion’s, Golden Nugget), and to the east Fremont East has the city’s best cocktail bars. The Neon Museum and Mob Museum are short walks or rides away.

Why stay here

Everything is close: casinos, Fremont East bars, Container Park and the Mob Museum are all within a 10-minute walk.

Who it's for: Repeat visitors, history and neon fans, and anyone who wants cheaper rooms and table minimums.

Pros

  • Cheaper hotels and table minimums than the Strip
  • Neon Museum and Mob Museum close by
  • Real neighborhood bars and restaurants on Fremont East

Cons

  • About 15 minutes by car from the Strip
  • Fremont Street is loud late at night
  • Blocks off the main drag can feel empty after dark—stay on busy streets
