The 18b Arts District is the 18 blocks just south of downtown, centered on Main Street and Charleston Boulevard. Old motels and warehouses now hold restaurants, bars, vintage shops and studios. This is where locals eat, and on First Friday each month the whole district turns into a street party.

Why stay here

The city’s best restaurants and bars are within a few blocks, it’s a short ride to Fremont Street, and the Strip is about 10 minutes away.

Who it's for: Food and drink people, repeat visitors, and anyone who wants Las Vegas without the casinos.

Pros

  • Some of the best restaurants and bars in the city
  • Murals, vintage shops and galleries on every block
  • No casino floors to cross

Cons

  • Very few hotels—the ENGLiSH Hotel is basically it
  • Quiet during the day on weekdays
  • You’ll need a ride to the Strip
