SoMa: Where to Stay & What to Do in 48 Hours
Salesforce Park, Yerba Buena, museums, and Oracle Park on one wide grid.

South of Market spreads between the Transbay Transit Center's Salesforce Park, Yerba Buena Gardens, SFMOMA, and the ballpark. It is the best 48-hour base if your trip mixes museums, a game, and a modern hotel with transit built in.

Why stay here
Yerba Buena and Salesforce Park keep daytime walks local; Union Square and the Embarcadero are short hops when you want classic SF.
Who it's for: Museum-goers, ballpark visitors, and travelers who want modern hotels with BART and Caltrain access.
Pros
- SFMOMA, Yerba Buena, and Salesforce Park in one loop
- Strong modern hotel inventory
- Direct transit (BART, Caltrain, Muni)
Cons
- Wide blocks and less café charm than North Beach or Hayes
- Can feel empty on weekend mornings away from the ballpark
- Convention crowds near Moscone
